Derpy's a forest princess

A quick sketch and three days of coloring later, here it is!!

This was a challenge to make, the trees and the grass were a pain in the ass (hey a rhyme!)

My recent trip to Washington state inspired this picture, a lot of great scenery.

But yeah, I was going for a "Bambi" inspired background for this pic.

So how are the trees, grass, lighting and whatnot? Did I do a fine job on them or do I need to practice on it more? (Because this is the first time I drew scenery like this)

Very nice. I love the back round. it was very well drawn. the colors are blended together nicely. i like how you put a lot of work into this. Princess Derpy i love it! what else should i say... OH yes. it is very original cause i have never seen a princess derpy. There is a lot of detail and it is very pretty. I even love how you made marking on the trees very nice. i can tell you are a brony or pegasister. i love the way she is dressed. i give this all 5 stars. it is very pretty

This is so lovely! BUT she should be an alicorn if she is a princess i couldnt help myself so i made this my wallpaper/background on EVERYTHIGN from my phone to my nook to my computer So sorry i didnt ask
