Say, the princess is practically naked for this one!
Surprisingly, the background wasn't the hardest part for this one, it was coloring Celestia. And yes, I actually got pissed off because of that. But hey! I'm finally done
The blossoms in the background are supposed to be falling, don't know if I did a good job on that.
MLP:FiM belongs to Hasbro and was created by Lauren Faust
First off, as mentioned previously, the originality of this piece is a nice change from some other works i've seen, this setting is just so beautiful and tranquil, it fit's Celestia very well...
Something every princess should do after a long day ^_^ Though she does look concerned, like there's something on her mind that's troubling her, that facial expression and unrelaxed posture tells me more than you could know...
And she looks so natural without all that armour and guilding draping off her and the ruffled mane, she's a pure white pony now and it suits her, even the little gestures like crossing the whooves over add to the troubled feel of this.
So yea, I love this artwork as I have never personally seen Celestia in this kind of scene, plus it has been drawn with such a great choice of colours, and the roughness of the lines on her mane add a certain charm to it that ties-in with the mood, they reflect her shakey thoughts (Good Way )
First of all, This piece is astoundingly original as far as MLP fanart goes.
I really like the pensiveness of this artwork, as expressed in the background as well as in Celestia's facial expression. Celestia's posing also adds interest to the piece through the contrast between her relaxed front legs and the tension in her straight neck and partially outstreched wing. Also, the fact that her mane is primarily in front of her head is a fascinating touch.
However, some other things bother me. Firstly, the colouring of her mane is rather choppy; I can see jagged lines throughout, which really distracts me from the nice flow of your line art on the mane. But, you probably realized that, as you did admit how difficult you found colouring Celestia. Also, it seems almost as if Celestia was photoshopped into the scene. I think this comes for a couple reasons: first, Celestia is the only part of this piece that has an outline, which makes her pop out of the scene. Second, her positioning in the piece is so close to the viewer. I think that this might have looked better had you placed her a little closer to the water and drawn her a bit smaller, perhaps enough to "fit" under the tree.
That being said, most of that was somewhat nitpicky. I really really enjoy this piece. The background is incredibly well done, and the shading throughout is excellent. I think that you presented a wonderful artistic vision very well, and I want to thank you for sharing it with us.
The cherry blossoms falling, the symbolism of another ending and another beginning. The troubles of the past fading and new troubles forming, many ponies gone in the blink of an eye. Lifetimes lived and enjoyed but now laid to rest. And yet she can never move on, never exspecrience the joys of growing old. Having to except she can only watch as the world grows old around her.
Ponies clam there is no such thing as a curse, that is we're they are wrong. There is only one true curse.
I wonder if Luna loved the sight of the cherry blossoms falling, and that is why Celestia looks so forlorn here. Luna, unable to enjoy the finer parts of life because of the monster that possessed her, and the horrible choice left to Celestia...
A beautiful piece that shows, even without all of the royal fittings and the crown, and with her mane not flowing with a nonexistent wind, that Celestia truly is a beautiful equine.
For years, I have waited for the Cryptids to return, 200 years ago, Discord was defeated by a Wyvern with a forked tounge, possible Cryptid, but not from my vision. I told Twilight some history on the Cryptids, but not the whole story. For years, I remained vigilant, if the Pegadragon comes, The time for revealing the prophecy to him will be when Nightmare Moon is coming.
